To be able to understand the Newmarket Lions Club, you must first understand a little about Lions International, the relation between the Newmarket Lions Club, Lions International and the Canadian Lions Foundation.

LIONS INVESTMENT IN NEWMARKET COMMUNITY
Dec 10, 2011 The official opening of the hall was held Saturday December 10, 2011. The Newmarket Lions Club served a free Pancake breakfast to the 225 people attending the opening. During the opening ceremony Mayor Tony Van Bynan spoke about the special relationship between the Newmarket Lions Club and the Town and thanked the Club for its participation in the refurbishing of the Hall with its donation of $400,000.00.

LIONS CLUB CELEBRATES 80 YEARS!
Nov 06, 2011 On November 6, 2011, the Newmarket Lions Club celebrated its 80th anniversary as a service club in Newmarket. Guest speaker was Judge Brian Stevenson from Calgary Alberta. Judge Stevenson is Canada’s last Lions Clubs International President. During the celebration the Club received special recognition from the Town of Newmarket, The Province of Ontario and Southlake Regional Hospital Foundation.
