In these troubling times, a little Christmas thoughtfulness, can raise the spirits of those unemployed and least fortunate. With your assistance, the Newmarket Lions Club will again be providing support through our Santa Fund to all qualifying Newmarket citizens.
Is there a Secret Santa in you?
For the 2023 Holiday Season there were 364 families in the Town of Newmarket in need of a little Secret Santa assistance. The Newmarket Lions Club distributed food vouchers to over 1300 people in need at a cost of $38,000.00.
How can you help?
Simply, by making a donation to the Newmarket Lions Club Santa Fund, you can help ensure that those in need can purchase their own food. 100% of the funds collected are distributed in the form of Food Vouchers to needy families and individuals in the Town of Newmarket. A tax receipt is provided for all donations greater than $10.00.
What are food vouchers?
Carefully numbered Lions Gift Certificates are redeemable at John’s No Frills at the corner of Yonge and Davis. The cashiers’ tapes are then billed to the Newmarket Lions Club. Each family can get what they truly need based on their individual dietary, allergy, age and taste requirements. There is no cash back, and the voucher cannot be used to purchase of lottery tickets, alcohol or tobacco, or gift certificates.
